DESCRIPTION:

Located in the Abbot Kinney artist district in Venice, the Bay Cities Artist-in-Residences occupy nine adjacent lots on the site of the former Bay Cities Laundry. The narrowness of these lots led to the artist-in-residence typology, which allowed more lenient setbacks. The resulting long and narrow buildings are easily divisible between residential and commercial areas.
